DIY:HOME MADE BODY BUTTER

Did you know that it only takes 26 seconds for whatever you put on your skin to be absorbed into your bloodstream and every organ of your body? Or that a woman’s body can absorb 5 pounds of chemicals per year from make-up alone! Yikes! Makes me really think twice about what I put on my body.
Take a moment to think of all the products we use daily. Shampoos, conditioners, hair spray, body washes, deodorant, shaving lotions, body lotion, make up, toothpaste, mouth washes etc.

So now we are going to make our very own whipped body butter, yaaay!! right, I know. To get started we would need the following:

Ingredients
  • 1 cup of organic Shea butter
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup almond oil (or any other mild liquid oil like jojoba, avocado or olive oil)
  • Essential oils, optional (I love strawberry and lavendar)

or you can make use of these as well:

Shea Butter
Cocoa Butter
Beeswax
Essential Oils (fragrance of your choice, I love strawberry and lavender)
Baking Soda
Vinegar
Bentonite Clay
Tea Tree Oil

To get started in a small pot melt the Shea butter and coconut oil until completely liquid. Stir in almond oil or liquid oil. Add in essential oils. I used a mixture of 10 drops of lemon and 15 drops of lavender. Allow to chill in the refrigerator until the oil mixture begins to firm, but has not turned completely solid. Using a standing mixer or hand mixer, whip the semi-solid mixture until white peaks form. Scoop into glass jars and store at room temp. The lotion will go on a little greasy, but will be absorbed by your skin in just a few minutes.
A little goes a long way so this will last you a while.

Enjoy guys *wink*

Get Your Rich Aunty Vibe On!!!

If you didn’t know, the official theme for this year’s Christmas is "Rich Aunty Vibes".         Last Christmas was a pandemic of who wore the longest Bone Straight hairs, but this year we seem to have embraced our “look-rich-to-feel-rich” culture even further with the maxi gowns and the headbands that scream it out loud. The Rich Aunty is that one aunty in everyone's lives (fictional or real) who radiates an affluent, sophisticated vibe with her fashion sense. There are simple ways to spark off that vibe on even the tiniest budget. Yes that's right you really don't have to rob a bank on this one cos we've got you 😉. Although most times it isn't cheap to look the part but if you follow these cues closely, you'll have a smooth transition to the Rich Aunty lifestyle in no time. 1. Bubu/Maxi gowns: The gown is of course the rich aunty starter pack, but it does not qualify you for the title just by wearing it. As stylish, sophisticated, and very fashion
