Presenting the 2014 collection by London-based Nigerian designer  Ade Bakare  titled “ Adire Meets Modernity “ The collection, which is based solely on the Nigerian textile –  adire  {tie & dye in Yoruba} – became a source of inspiration for Ade due to his constant travels to Nigeria. Ade said,  “I became interested in this rare textile and was intrigued the way it was made, However I felt it could be made in more luxurious fabrics which would endear it to more people and international appeal ”. He worked with various  adire  manufacturers and brought a lot silks from his London, England design studio for them to work with. The result is the new collection for summer 2014 titled “Adire meets Modernity”. With recognition for his  evening wear line , his bridal line &  couture perfume “Breeze” , Ade created a collection that is more structured, retaining the elements of the  adire  with a touch of evening glamour. DIY: GET RID OF STRETCH MARKS NATURALLY

We all know how people say its next to impossible to get rid of stretch marks naturally, hmm.. this is not true. Although this may take time and patience before the result is visible  but definitely achievable.  Outlined below are natural ways in which stretch marks can be gotten rid of or at least made to fade.  Potatoes:  These work wonders on stretch marks. The juices of the potatoes are full of vitamins and minerals that aid in restoring skin cells. Cut the potatoes into thick slices. Rub the pieces over the stretch marks allowing  the juice settle on them. Leave on for a few minutes and wash the residue off with warm water.  Olive Oil:  This is equally high in Vitamin E which is great for the skin. This helps in soften the skin and when the skin softens it expands which allows the marks fade easily and also safeguard against future stretch marks. Castor oil is another excellent choice.  Sugar:  Yep! you heard right too much of this maybe bad for the internal health but

THIS MAY SAVE YOUR HAIRLINE

A lot of people complain about thin or thinning edges/hairline. A small tip, which may go some way in helping to keep edges thriving is to use pH, which simply put is the measure of acidity or alkalinity of a substance. The scalp has an acid mantle, meaning that it is covered by “a very fine, slightly acidic film on the surface of the skin acting as a barrier to bacteria, viruses and other potential contaminants that might penetrate the skin” 1 . This means that for the scalp to thrive, it should be at a pH of about 4.5 and 6.2. Luckily, the sebaceous glands secrete this acidic film so it occurs naturally. When we wash our faces, we use an alkaline soap or cleanser. A lot of times, when a barrier of some sort, such as a shower cap is not used, some of this soap or the resulting foam lands smack on the hair line and will stay there until rinsed off…if rinsed it off properly. This disturbs the natural pH of that area of the scalp.  Think about it this way: When we shampoo, we
