EMERGING NIGERIAN DESIGN LABEL, ST. QUE PRESENTS "THE ECONOMIC CHIC", CHECK OUT LOOKBOOK PHOTOS

Nigerian emerging fashion design label, St.Queis out with a new Spring/Summer 2014 lookbook tagged “The economic Chic”.
According to Ayotunde Bamigbade, the label’s director, the collection exploits the practicality and diversity of the chiffon fabric. “The Economic Chic”, is largely inspired by the realities of everyday living in a very populated city like Lagos- the hustle and bustle, hot weather, erratic power supply and so on. Chiffon is the material of choice because it is easy to maintain (which is saying it is “wash and wear’’ in colloquial terms), can be styled to fit work or night life and above all is comfortable in hot weather.“Being an economic chic is not about being frugal or wanting to wear cheap clothing. It’s about looking fabulous without having to clean out your bank account.
It is also about being able to stretch your wardrobe with staples like jackets”.

The collection has 10 unique designs which mostly borrow cues from early 90s' fashion:  bright colours, oversized lapels, ‘’press-buttons” and puff sleeves.
The designer also has a fetish for Alice bands, so as always she has included her signature head bands to the collection. "Alice bands should never be out of vogue", Ayo says…
