"MY HEART SKIPPED A BEAT IN CUBA" SPRING/SUMMER 2017 COLLECTION BY UK DESIGN DUO IFE'S CLOSET

Designed by sisters Titi and Tinuke Ukrinamemen of Ife'Closet,"My Heart Skipped A Beat In Cuba" the UK based designers’ third collection was created and inspired after their first trip and experience to the timeless capital of Havana, Cuba.The Spring/Summer 2017 collection features a 20-piece assortment of high fashion and high energy ready to wear pieces through a burst of colourful and rich vintage prints.

From slimline dresses and tops with exaggerated silhouettes to peplum and layered skirts and jumpsuits; Ife’s Closet’s West African epoch prints infused with the tropical vibrancy of Havana nights is the must have collection for this spring/summer.

The Queen of Cowrie, Dion is a Nigerian designer, and her brand La Falaise Dion is inspired by African spirituality and mystical practices. According to Dion “ the cowrie has a special significance in the African culture and has been seen by our ancestors to be an object of divination, a communication link between men and spirits, also the cowrie represents wealth, power, protection, the woman, creation, feminity, and also sexuality.” And as a matter of fact, has been used in the past as a form of old currency in West Africa.
