Dame Abimbola Fashola, the First Lady of Lagos State alongside the H.E Obioma Liyel Imoke, the First Lady of Cross River State and Alhaji Aliko Dangote, GCON conducted the cutting of the ribbon after prayers by Dr. Christopher Kolade. Customers new and old eagerly trooped in to see the exquisite display.
Spectacularly decorated, the DO.II showroom was a breathtaking statement of beauty and classic elegance! Guests were wowed as they experienced the detailed and unique craftsmanship visible in everyDO.II creation brought together in an enchanting visual display.
The event, organized by Eventful Limited, started with a cocktail reception in the garden of the DO.II showroom at 292C Ajose Adeogun Street V.I Lagos. Guests were treated to sweet and savory canapés, luscious desserts and cocktails as they waited for the doors to be officially declared open by Dame Abimbola Fashola, the Guest of Honour.
On entry, the guests were greeted by the alluring scent of the DO.II Essence of the Month courtesy of Cececa, and vibrant tempo of the ‘feel good’ music wafting through inconspicuous speakers and music system provided by Woodstock Electronics. The DO-II experience catered to all the six senses of taste, touch, scent, sight, sound and soul.
The shop floor displays were uber stylish and awe inspiring! They were made even more magnificent by the ultra fresh floral arrangements courtesy of FlowerPlus, a bespoke floral design company. The works of art on display by various renowned Nigerian and West African masters that adorned the walls further enriched the space thus adding to the evening’s true expression of the various genres of African art, craftsmanship and the combined expertise of the various industry icons that collaborated on this event.
The statement piece of the night was definitely the Rectangular Base dining table and the “Tatie” dining chairs (every piece in the DO.II product line has a unique name). The Tatie dining set was gorgeously arranged with intricate silver urns, towering whimsical candelabras and elegant statement floral centerpieces of roses, orchids and casablanca lilies, stylishly complemented by candles and tea lights that gave the showroom a warm and magical glow. It was simply breathtaking and declared sold on sight!
Models adorned the furniture like Live Art as Tiffany Amber Nigeria showcased its Spring/Summer 14 collection – “Nirvana” in a style never before witnessed in Nigeria. The fusion of fashion and furniture was so aesthetically integrated that it was difficult to separate the two brands; giants in both their respective industries. The guests were blown away! One guest joked that they would go home with the whole set, the Romo armchair with fashion model in tow.
The Moët & Chandon bar ensured that guests enjoyed the finest champagne as they strolled through the showroom and were treated to the complete DO.II Experience!
It was truly an evening of Fun, Fine Art, Fantastic Fashion and Fabulous Furniture by DO.II!

Victoria Beckham  came out to discuss how she was bullied back in school while attending a public school while she covers the March edition of  Allure Magazine . The designer and fashion icon looked beautiful in a close up shot where she opened up about how she works, her dreams, beauty routine, juggling business with family amongst other things. The former spice girl dished  on designing  for 'real women' “I find that even the simplest of dresses, if it has the correct seaming and the correct fabric, whatever shape or size you are, it can change the way you hold yourself.” Later on in the year, her first brick-and-mortar store will open in London, allowing customers “to see the brand through my eyes, as opposed to being able to buy what the retail partner buys. The buyer will be what I decide.” On growing up : “I didn’t go to a private school; it was a public school. It was not a very nice school.” “ I was different from all the other children at the sch...
