She started her blog in February of 2009, however she started posting photos of herself of her blog when her husband Greg suggested that she do so to showcasing her unique sense of style, “You can’t give style advice and not post pictures of yourself to gain trust with your readers,” he told her. Now, her style pictures are the talk of social media where viewers praise her effortlessly chic outfits, beautiful Afro curly hair.
According to Folake, “I use my style as an outlet to say who I am and put my flag in the ground. I’m not terribly interested in trends and just follow my own heart and whims.”
Her go to look is a nice, colorful breezy kaftan! And her advice for up-and-coming style bloggers is to be consistent. Update regularly. Support your fellow bloggers. There is room for everyone. Just let everyone know you’re here.
