Fashion has been going through a boom in all things African with the Guinness documentary on the “Sapeurs” of Congo and Diesel + Edun‘s collections sourced from Africa.
Now, English Fashion Designer Dame Vivienne Westwood will be launching her “Ethical Africa” bags – A collection of brands that are dedicated towards Africa, created from recycled canvas, reused roadside banners and unused leather cut-offs – on Asos.com.
The initiative which started in 2011, consists of a collection of bags that have been handmade by women in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi subjected to extreme poverty. The collection has rucksacks, cloth bags, zipped clutches and totes that are classified as unisex and feature prints like an anchor, orb and squiggle print that the Vivienne Westwood brand is known for.
The bags are set to launch in Asos.com tomorrow Friday 24th January 2014 at the price of £58 (Approximately N15,313).Photo Credit: FashionUnited.com
