Deputy Editor of the magazine, Onah Nwachukwu gives us the scoop on the Valentine’s issue.
“Our Valentine’s Issue updates Complete Fashion faithful readers on gift ideas, trends and of course Aso-Ebi styles from two of the most awaited weddings of 2013.
Our female cover talent, Lami Phillips is one who is truly enchanting. Speaking to her totally changed my perception of the petite lady I saw as I walked into the studio. One word from her you could feel strength on one hand, and on the other, warmth and passion. Talk about having the perfect balance.

I must say that I expected Burna Boy to be hyperactive but much to my surprise, he was very calm. You could tell that inside of him is a jar of talent waiting to burst out. We haven’t seen anything yet. As for his take on love… you’ll just have to read about it.
Also check out our special luxe jewellery collection in ‘Shine Bright’ featuring valentine gift ideas for him and her. Don’t miss out on our special insert in this issue featuring Konga.com and their brilliant guide to light up the season of love.
As we all search for love and strive to stay happy with the love we have, a quote from one of my favourite authors Paulo Coelho, comes to mind… “The search for happiness is purely personal and not a model we can give to others.”

Hear from the beautiful bride - “On the 15th of January 2014, I got married to my lover and Best Friend. It was such an intimate event, I haven’t stopped apologizing to family and friends who feel slighted that they could not attend.  I really did not wish to keep it a secret, if anything we would have loved to have all our loved ones there with us but this was our registry and  so much had happened between Maje and I in the last 3 months. Plus, it was such a huge surprise, I had no clue. I hate surprises but I must say, this one knocked me out of my elements because I usually suspect something is happening. Hehehehe! I am not fully over it yet. ...

The Queen Of Cowrie Strikes Again!! Comes Through For Miss Cote D'Ivoire, Olivia Yace

The Queen of Cowrie, Dion is a Nigerian designer, and her brand La Falaise Dion is inspired by African spirituality and mystical practices. According to Dion “ the cowrie has a special significance in the African culture and has been seen by our ancestors to be an object of divination, a communication link between men and spirits, also the cowrie represents wealth, power, protection, the woman, creation, feminity, and also sexuality.” And as a matter of fact, has been used in the past as a form of old currency in West Africa. Dion’s brand is the designer’s way to not only honour her ancestors’ history but to write her own. According to her, “it is time for us black Africans to reconcile with our heritage and reclaim our culture; our spirituality, our gods and embrace it. Known to have designed the cowrie shell headpiece (Lagbadja) worn by Beyonce in her “spirit” music video for the Lion King: The Gift, Dion strikes again but this time it’s an Haute-couture piece covered in cowries for ...
