OFFICIAL PHOTOS OF TOKE MAKINWA AND MAJE AYIDA'S SURPRISE WEDDING

Media personality Toke Makinwa took Nigeria by surprise when she wed her longtime on-again, off-again beau of over 12 years –  Maje Ayida on Wednesday January 15 2014, 6 days ago. In case you missed it, see the 1st post HERE!
Toke is now ready to share her good news and official photos with the world!
Hear from the beautiful bride -
“On the 15th of January 2014, I got married to my lover and Best Friend. It was such an intimate event, I haven’t stopped apologizing to family and friends who feel slighted that they could not attend.  I really did not wish to keep it a secret, if anything we would have loved to have all our loved ones there with us but this was our registry and  so much had happened between Maje and I in the last 3 months. Plus, it was such a huge surprise, I had no clue. I hate surprises but I must say, this one knocked me out of my elements because I usually suspect something is happening. Hehehehe! I am not fully over it yet.
Relationships are tough, people go through the ups and downs and we as a couple have had our share of that. Having a private moment was not to offend anyone, it was God’s appointed time and No, I am not pregnant. Lol. Having a baby is a precious gift from God and when that time is right, I am sure he will bless us with ours. Without boring you all, cos you mean so much to me, I have decided to share some of the pictures from the happiest day of my life.”

The Bride!
The beautiful belle was breathtaking in a lace and satin custom creation made by her close pal – designer Kunbi Oyelese of APRIL By Kunbi. The dress was inspired by a Berta Bridal creation from the Winter 2014 collection. Toke’s makeup was done by Joyce Jacob Beauty – she chose a soft glowy look  for the bride, complete with pretty pink lips.

The Ceremony
Only Toke’s nearest and dearest were privy to groom Maje’s plan to propose and wed on the same day. Toke’s sister and close friends including Arese Ogiemwonyi and Louise Priddy were present to celebrate her joy.
Toke has revealed exclusively that her and Maje will perform their traditional marriage rites later this year, and also have another beautiful white wedding – this one filled with family and friends. As Toke shared in an interview with Liz Yemoja, the couple already had their introduction early last year.

We’d like to thank the bride for sharing her special day with us – we can’t wait for the full-blown wedding!. See more on Toke’s blog!
Enjoy!
